LORD PATENTS LOW VISCOSITY
SCRATCH RESISTANT COATINGS
Patent No. U.S. 6,852,768 B2
Lord Corp. has received a patent
for a scratch-resistant coating composition
having a textured surface
upon curing when applied on a substrate,
and having a thickness of
from five to 150 micrometers. The
coating is comprised of a curable
polymer, an inorganic filler in an
amount effective to enhance the
scratch resistance of the coating
composition, and texture-producing
particles. The inorganic filler has a
fiftieth percentile particle diameter
of from approximately three to nine
micrometers; the inorganic filler
comprises ceramic spheres; and the
texture-producing particles have a
fiftieth percentile particle diameter
of approximately 10 to 150 micrometers.
