BASF Coatings has received a patent for a coating material comprised of at least one hydrophobic nanoparticle based on silica and at least one hydrophilic nanoparticle based on silica having a BET internal surface area of >300 m2/g. The coating material is comprised of the nanoparticles and in an amount of from 0.8 to 3% by weight, based on the overall solids content of the coating material.
