Market for Environmental Protection in China Worth $34.4 Billion in 2013

According to a new technical market research report, “The Environmental Protection Market in China,” from BCC Research, the global market for environmental protection products and equipment in China is expected to be worth $13.4 billion in 2008. This will increase to more than $34.3 billion in 2013, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.7%.
The market is broken down into segments for products and equipment that address air pollution, water pollution and municipal solid waste pollution. Of these, products and equipment for water pollution have the largest share of the market, worth an estimated $6.5 billion in 2008. This should increase to $16.8 billion in 2013, for a CAGR of 21.0%.
Products and equipment for air pollution control have the second largest market share, worth an estimated $6.1 billion in 2008 and $15.4 billion in 2013, for a CAGR of 20.5%.
The third largest segment, municipal solid waste pollution products and equipment, was estimated at $860.0 million in 2008. This should increase at a CAGR of 20.5% to reach $2.2 billion in 2013.
