BASF Coating GmbH has obtained a patent for a water-based coating composition comprised of at least one resin composition for a water-based coating composition, a rheological assistant comprised of at least one polyamide, and at least one acrylate thickener based on polyacrylic acid or polymethacrylic acid, wherein the mass ratio of polyamide to acrylate thickener is 10:1 to 1.5:1 and wherein the rheological assistant is 2%-15% by weight based on total binder solids.
