The Shepherd Color Company has been granted a patent for an amorphous zirconium vanadium oxide/hydroxide product, having a formula of from Zr2V3O12.nH2O to Zr3V4O16.nH2O, wherein n is from 0 to 6, substantially free of salts selected from hexavalent chromium salts, alkali metal chlorides, alkali metal nitrates, alkali metal sulfates and mixtures thereof.
