Jar Mills Using Ceramic Jars
Attributes/comments: The new innovation of using high strength and chemically resistant jars allows the old tried-and-true Jar Mill to now handle more exotic materials. Jars made of ZrO/yttria composition offer low wear for long life and less contamination of milled products. The ceramic’s low porosity makes cleaning between runs easier. Glen Mills’ Jar Mills can handle a variety of jar sizes, and the mills can be single-tier or multi-tiered for more productivity in a confined space. Pictured are ceramic jars with metal strengthening sections.
Ceramic Grinding Media for Jar Mills and Media Mills
Attributes/comments: Advanced ceramics, such as zirconium oxide stabilized with yttria have application in the comminution of solids where contamination is a concern. Glen Mills offer grinding media in ball and rod shapes from 30 microns up to 25mm. The low wear of these parts allows for long mill and media life and minimal contamination of the milled products. The low porosity of the ceramics expedites cleaning and essentially eliminates cross contamination between batches.

FAMAT Sampling Valves
Attributes/comments: Jaygo, Inc. is introducing the new FAMAT Sampling Valves.
The sampling valves are based on the patented E.P. EXPANDING PISTON Technology. The patented system inside this piston allows the PTFE external layer to expand and insure a perfect seal.
Samples can be taken under process conditions:
- From vacuum up to 145 psi (10 bar)
- Temperature between -4°F (-20°C) and 360°F (180°C). (On request up to 570°F (300°C)).
The advantage of having an expendable piston inside the valve is to eliminate the need for O-rings that can be damaged during valve operation, and consequently generate a contamination point. Another big advantage of the design is that in closed position, the piston will be flush with the connection point, leaving no dead space
