Tnemec Company, Inc. has introduced Series 1061 Oculox, a water-based silicon-grafted composite topcoat that sets new standards for durability and aesthetic performance in the coatings industry. Oculox combines the ease of application typical of water-based acrylics with unparalleled gloss retention and color stability, surpassing the performance of even aliphatic polyurethanes and polysiloxanes. Its innovative organic/inorganic chemistry evenly disperses silicone particles throughout the film, shielding organic components
from UV degradation and ensuring longlasting brilliance.

Formulated with premium, color-stable pigments akin to Tnemec’s Fluoronar and HydroFlon, Series 1061 Oculox delivers exceptional color fastness and gloss retention even in challenging environmental conditions. Its versatile application methods – brush, roller, or spray – coupled with dry-fall capabilities make it ideal for structural steel, tank exteriors, bridges, and decorative metals.

Environmentally friendly and isocyanate-free, Oculox complies with stringent air district regulations and supports sustainability initiatives, meeting LEED and WELL certifications. Its superior durability and low environmental impact make it the preferred choice for projects emphasizing visual appeal, longevity, and eco-consciousness.

“We are excited to launch Series 1061 Oculox, representing a significant leap in water-based coating technology,” said Jennifer Gleisberg, director of Performance Coatings at Tnemec. “It offers unmatched performance and aesthetic benefits, reflecting our commitment to innovation and coating longevity.”
