Specialty chemical manufacturer AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc., will feature its fine silica product line at the 2017 Specialty & Agro Chemicals America show at booth 964.

AGC’s fine silica products are fluorinated resin additives that enhance the surface smoothness and dispersion of media such as cosmetics, paints and coatings.

AGC’s uniquely structured micro-silica products include:

·       Sunspera™ high-porosity microspherical silica gels that are used as catalyst supports or carriers for active-organic or inorganic materials.

·       Sunlovey™ self-aligning micro-flakes that are used as additives to provide unique qualities or improve the performance of paints, coatings, cosmetics and UV-cured resin systems for 3D printing.

·       Solesphere™ fine silica microsphere particles that are used as a more natural alternative to petrochemical-based microspheres. They allow cosmetics to absorb moisture, resist heat and remain pure from corrosion. They are also used as a matting agent or thickener for paints.

Dr. Jie Zhang, AGC’s business manager of fine and specialty chemicals, will deliver a presentation on fluorine chemistry for pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and co-catalysts on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 3:20 p.m.

“This event is an excellent opportunity to for us to uncover industry needs for our innovative fluorine-based products,” said Zhang. “It also gives us the chance to educate industry professionals about our fine silica additives and pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates.”
