Honda Motor Europe has extended its partnership with AkzoNobel Performance Coatings, strengthening the company’s position as one of two preferred suppliers of vehicle refinishes to Honda dealerships and approved bodyshops in Europe. The new five-year contract runs until March 2019 and will cover supply and support of AkzoNobel’s Sikkens and Lesonal brands. “Strong partnerships with leading suppliers are more important than ever,” said Neil Read, global key account manager for AkzoNobel’s Vehicle Refinishes business. “AkzoNobel has worked closely with Honda in some of its key markets for many years and we’re delighted that our relationship will continue.” He went on to explain that Honda selected AkzoNobel because of its product performance and network management, particularly in the area of training bodyshop personnel. “Our training will reinforce best practice, express repair and a ‘right-first-time’ approach,” continued Read. “With our support, Honda, its dealers and its repairers can grow together with AkzoNobel to ensure the best possible quality of service and repair for customers.” “The AkzoNobel product range is greatly respected by the industry and is delivered with a high level of support,” said Peter Gottschalg, Honda’s European Body and Paint manager. “We are very impressed by the color matching achieved using AkzoNobel tools, such as Mixit Pro, which will enable tracking and assistance of the network to maximize profit from paint.” Simon Parker, managing director of AkzoNobel’s Vehicle Refinishes business, said: “As a leading innovator of product, color technology and state-of-the-art customer services, it is our ambition to be seen as a true partner for our customers. As well as offering top-notch training, full technical and logistical support, our global representation helps us to understand the local markets in which we operate.”
