Axalta Coating Systems will officially unveil the 2014 Brilliant Flames paint scheme on the No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet SS race car driven by four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon. Fans will have an opportunity to see the new design at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 5:00 pm in the Great Hall before the NASCAR season begins next month. Gordon will be there, joined by popular motorsports announcer Winston Kelley; VP Axalta Coating Systems and Head of North American Business Nigel Budden; Hendrick Motorsports Chairman and Owner Rick Hendrick and renowned artist Sam Bass for a press conference. The paint scheme designed by Bass marks the 22nd season of a historical partnership between Axalta, Hendrick Motorsports and Gordon. Wade Robinson, Axalta North America Strategic Marketing Director said, “The car has a sleek, colorful, racing design fitting of a champion. Brilliant Flames symbolizes longevity, style and fire for the business and for the sport. The base colors contain a unique specialty pigment we call Brilliance that reflects a multitude of colors. The car is vibrant like the Las Vegas Strip and is bright like the July sun at the Brickyard in Indianapolis─two cities that will host Axalta races this season.
