The Color Pigments Manufacturers Association (CPMA) announces that David Wawer, executive director since 2014, has announced his retirement after 11 years of dedicated service to the color pigments industry.

Under Wawer’s leadership, CPMA has strengthened its position as the recognized voice for the North American color pigments industry, navigating regulatory challenges and building valuable partnerships with industry stakeholders.

Now Seeking New Leadership

CPMA is actively searching for a dynamic executive director to lead the association into its next chapter. This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to serve as the primary spokesperson for the color pigments industry while driving strategic initiatives in regulatory advocacy, sustainability, and member value creation.

Key qualifications include:
• Proven leadership experience in trade associations or related industries
• Expertise in regulatory affairs, public policy, or science-driven sectors
• Strong relationship-building and advocacy skills
• Knowledge of specialty chemicals, pigments, coatings, or plastics preferred
• Familiarity with global chemical regulations (TSCA, REACH) a plus

The successful candidate will lead CPMA’s advocacy strategy, manage regulatory relationships with agencies like EPA, build international partnerships, and ensure members receive tangible value from their association investment.
