Evonik and Brenntag Sign Distribution Agreement

Brenntag, a chemical and ingredients distributor recently signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Evonik. Brenntag is now distributing Evonik’s silane compound-based building protection products, and as the Protectosil product in Germany. 
 
Protectosil can be used as protective coatings for building surfaces. It is a silane system based on silicon. The molecules penetrate the fabric of the building and protects reinforced concrete structures from damage and decay. Protectosil also attains durability and resistance of mineral building materials.
 
Business manager of coatings and construction at Brenntag Alain Kavafyan said, “surface protection, such as against graffiti or corrosion damage, is of great importance in the construction industry, as it can reduce maintenance costs and extend the life of buildings by decades. That’s why I’m very pleased that together with Evonik we can offer our customers in Germany another high-quality product line in this area, too, to improve and protect their construction projects to a high standard.”
 
According to Brenntag, Protectosil meets high sustainability requirements and reportedly increases service life of buildings and bridges. It can be used for hydrophobing, graffiti protection, façade cleaning, and stone consolidation of classic natural stone.
