Football teams say they “must defend their house” during home games. For the Jacksonville Jaguars, that takes on a whole new meaning. The Stadium Home by Dream Finders Homes at EverBank Field is a complete freestanding home, along with a yard, located just steps from the Jags’ home field. The showcase home will be used for special events before games during the 2015 and 2016 seasons, and will then be donated to a local military veteran. Jacksonville homebuilder Dream Finders Homes built the Southern Coastal style home, and Covestro – formerly Bayer MaterialScience LLC – donated the spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation used to help make it energy efficient. The 2,400 square foot home features a large, open floor plan and a master suite on the main floor. There are four total bedrooms plus a loft and 2.5 bathrooms. A 688 square foot deck off the kitchen adds substantial outdoor living space. The deck has a wheelchair ramp for full accessibility. Covestro worked with SPF contractor USI First Choice to install Bayseal open-cell (OC) and Bayseal closed-cell (CC) SPF insulation throughout the home. USI applied Bayseal CC in the crawlspace to help reduce moisture buildup in hot, humid conditions. Bayseal OC is used in all perimeter walls and the roof deck to help reduce air leakage, which can account for up to 40 percent of the energy used to heat and cool a typical home. “A big front porch with a white picket rail – that’s as American as tail gaiting and football, and The Stadium Home brings it all together,” said Jeremy Parker, national sales manager for the Covestro spray polyurethane foam insulation and roofing materials business. “Dream Finders Homes receives all the credit for conceiving this project as a way to showcase beautiful design, quality construction and energy efficiency. When we heard the home will ultimately be donated to a United States military veteran, our participation was a no-brainer.” The home is located adjacent to Gate 4 at EverBank Field and is open to all visitors with valid game day tickets.
