The Lubrizol Corporation brought its unique market perspectives to the 5th Meet the Market South America International Conference on July 1, introducing what the Era of Efficiency truly means for engine lubricant markets in South America. The conference, hosted by Lubes em Foco, in collaboration with ICIS, was held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, where Lubrizol’s Latin America Product Manager Fabio Araujo introduced the Era of Efficiency. Araujo discussed how wide-ranging efficiency standards have ushered in the use of thinner engine lubricants. Araujo then participated in a panel session to review the outlook, challenges and opportunities in the South American lubricants market. For instance, Brazil’s national Inovar-Auto Incentive Program seeks to remove 21 million metric tons of CO2 from the country by encouraging and incentivizing the design and production of smaller, more powerful engines.
