The Behr Paint Company and the Painting Contractors Association (PCA) announced a new partnership aimed at supporting U.S. veterans who are transitioning into civilian life. The collaboration will provide educational and mentorship opportunities and foster the development of new painters and business owners within the veteran’s community.

Through Behr Paint’s support, 100 U.S. veterans will receive free access to PCA resources through a scholarship that includes a complimentary first-year PCA membership. This offer is exclusively for new PCA members. In addition to membership, scholarship recipients will receive personalized mentorship from PCA member volunteers and former U.S. veterans from the PCA community and Behr Paint’s Veteran Network.

PCA Board Chair Nick Slavik and PCA Board Member Chris Elliott, both U.S. combat veterans, will lend their support and guidance to scholarship recipients. This opportunity is a small token of appreciation for our veterans as they integrate back into civilian life after serving our country.

“As a U.S. veteran myself, I am incredibly proud of the Painting Contractor’s Association work with Behr [Paint] to give transformative educational experiences to veterans starting their next chapter,” says Slavik. “The PCA has changed my life, and I’m thrilled this program opens the door for my fellow veterans to learn how to be better painters and business owners.”

Behr Paint’s generous support will also provide scholarships to an additional 25 U.S. veterans to attend their choice of PCA fall events, which include tickets to the event and travel stipends. The eligible fall events include PCA en Español, PCA Residential Conference, PCA Women in Paint, and PCA Commercial Conference. This reinforces Behr Paint’s enduring commitment to empowering veterans in building thriving careers as professional painters and entrepreneurs

“We are incredibly proud to partner with the Painting Contractors Association on this vital initiative to support U.S. veterans as they transition back to civilian life,” said Megan Selby, president, Behr Paint Company. “By offering educational resources, mentorship, and access to valuable industry events, we aim to assist veterans with the skills and connections they need to build successful careers.”

The total commitment for these scholarships amounts to $75,000 in direct educational programing for those who have served, highlighting Behr Paint’s commitment to providing support to U.S. veterans and their customers.
