PPG Adds New Primer to DELFLEET ESSENTIAL Paint System

The commercial coatings group of PPG Industries’ automotive refinish business has enhanced the DELFLEET ESSENTIAL commercial paint system with the addition of ESU480 2.1-VOC (volatile organic compound) Epoxy Primer. ESU480 is fully compatible with Delfleet Essential basecoats and single-stage topcoats. The new primer features outstanding versatility and can be used with an array of substrates such as cold rolled steel, aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel and galvaneal as well as enamel surfaces and fiber glass.

ESU480 incorporates advanced technology to provide superior adhesion and resistance to corrosion. It is a gray, thin-film epoxy that lays down easily with no need for sanding. The primer offers a fast recoat time and quick drying that requires as little as 30 minutes before topcoating. Its low 2.1 VOC content makes it compliant for all of the U.S. and Canada. ESU480 is applied in a 4-to-1 mix ratio and has a four-hour potlife.
