TCI Powder Coatings, a subsidiary of RPM International Inc. has named Thomas G. Whalen director of marketing and segment strategy. Whalen brings more than 25 years of experience in the industrial coatings market to this new position with TCI. For the past two years, he was with PPG Industries as the global business director, Consumer Electronics, and Performance Glass Coatings. Prior to that, Whalen was vice president of Liquid and Mirror Coatings Units and led two global businesses with Spraylat, which was acquired by PPG. Before joining Spraylat, Whalen worked at Valspar with an increasing level of management experience, including global segment director. He started his coatings career with Moline Paint in 1986 in sales and held senior positions including international business director.
