In March 2024, Teknos received the EcoVadis gold medal for its sustainability performance. This places Teknos within the top 5% of more than 130,000 companies rated by EcoVadis across the globe. According to the EcoVadis methodology, Teknos performed best in the following categories: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement. Here are some of the achievements that contributed to this result: • A reduction of 95% in the amount of substances of concern* relative to our total raw material consumption • 97% of direct procurement spent is covered by Teknos’ Supplier Code of Conduct. • A significant improvement in Teknos’ safety performance in 2023, with Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate** going down 21.3% compared to 2022. Sustainability is a cornerstone of Teknos’ strategy, and the EcoVadis gold medal is confirmation of this commitment, said Paula Salastie, CEO and owner of Teknos Group. “It is clear that the coatings industry is in transformative phase, where safety and sustainability are being prioritized,” said Salastie. “At Teknos, we are working closely with our suppliers and customers to collectively innovate and develop the next generation of high-performance paints that have less impact on the environment, prolong the lifecycle of our customers’ products, and are safer to handle and apply. “We are proud that our persistent work to increase our ethical awareness, and to develop more sustainable operations and products, has been recognized once again with the EcoVadis gold medal,” added Salastie. “To be included in the top 5% of all rated companies is a great recognition that will inspire for the future. “For us, being sustainable goes well beyond products and operations,” Salastie noted. “Being a family-owned company, people are everything to us, with safety being our number one priority.
