Benjamin Moore & Co. has announced the appointment of Ron Schuller as Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President. Schuller brings more than 25 years of retail and consumer brand experience to Benjamin Moore, most recently as Vice President of Marketing for Houston-based retail accessories chain, Charming Charlie. “Schuller is a strategic, results-driven leader with a proven track record of success in the retail industry,” said Mike Searles, President and CEO of Benjamin Moore & Co. “He is a natural choice to lead our marketing efforts and I am confident he will help support the brand as we are gearing up for a big 2015.” Schuller will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of the company’s marketing, advertising and product management initiatives. Under Schuller’s leadership, Benjamin Moore will embark on its most aggressive marketing plan in history. Beginning in 2015, the company will be shifting its paid media focus to mass media channels with an emphasis on TV and national scale, investing more in those channels than it ever has before. This plan will drive the company’s mission of a relentless focus on Benjamin Moore customers, the development of the best-in-class products, services and experiences, a continuous enhancement of world-leading brands and an unwavering commitment to the independent retail channel. “I am honored to join such an iconic brand that merges a rich American heritage with products that are unmatched in the marketplace,” said Schuller. “I look forward to working with Mike Searles and the Benjamin Moore leadership team, focusing on a renewed commitment to both the independent channel and to building a world-class marketing function that will proliferate the brand’s message.” Schuller has also held executive marketing leadership positions with Stage Stores, Tween Brands, Limited Brands, GNC and Chase Bank. In addition to his corporate experience, Schuller spent several years in the marketing consultancy space where he brought strategic thought leadership and loyalty program design expertise to specialty retail brands including independent hardware cooperatives. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned a BS degree in Business Finance and focused his graduate studies in Marketing in the MBA program at the Max M. Fisher – College of Business.
