Ship & Shore Environmental, Inc. To Export its Pollution Abatement Technology in China

-Ship & Shore Environmental, Inc, a leading pollution abatement system manufacturing firm based in Long Beach, Calif., today announced its official expansion into China through an agreement with local firm, Kcalin H&G.

Ship & Shore provides air pollution capture and control systems for industrial applications, and designs cost- and energy-savings solutions for clients around the world.

According to Anoosheh M. Oskouian, Ship & Shore Environmental’s CEO and president, “The U.S. has been at the leading edge of technology in the area of manufacturing industry air pollution control for years. Now, after decades of its worsening pollution crisis, China is taking serious steps to reduce its carbon footprint.”

Oskouian explains that China has begun to implement many types of pollution control efforts, while increasing and enforcing regulations on manufacturers.

“I am therefore very confident that China will respond well to our entrance. We have the technical expertise they are demanding and will need moving forward,” Oskouian says.

Ship & Shore will exhibit at the Jiangsu Environmental Expo in the Nanjing International Expo Center, Nov. 19-20, as a major step in the company’s overall five-year plan to boost the export of its proven technical know-how beyond U.S. borders.

An American non-profit organization, RTI International (formerly the Research Triangle Institute), is currently working with Jiangsu Environmental Protection Bureau to introduce and promote new environmental technologies in China.

According to RTI, the Jiangsu staff surveyed local firms to obtain specific information on their environmental issues, which of course include air pollution control.

“The idea behind the RTI effort and the conference is to it to facilitate the exchange of environmental technologies between users and suppliers,” Oskouian says. “We are very excited to be part of the upcoming Jiangsu Environmental Expo, and look forward to working with Chinese manufacturers as a logical component of our global expansion plans.

“We have been steadily growing in the field while becoming capable of servicing more industries,” Oskouian adds. “I envision that within five years we will have expanded our coverage geographically, as well as across industries. Specifically, I’d like to see our technology serve more of the Far East and more European countries, as they are not as advanced as the U.S. is in this particular space.”

Oskouian also says her firm would like to “complement our service” by applying some of the energy efficiency know-how that we offer that goes hand in hand with all our projects.

“We are looking to have business around the world think seriously about how we can conserve energy while addressing a host of environmental issues, as we do in the U.S.,” she says. “Our goal is to be recognized for our unique offering around the world, because the demand is there.”
