The Wagner 2K Comfort electronic mixing and dosing system has been specially developed for wideranging, multi-color applications. Color changes are possible in less than a minute with this system, which allows the user a greater degree of flexibility during coating. In addition, up to 90 % of the solvent is saved during color change, as only the gun hose needs to be flushed. With the gun distribution valve, not only can two guns be operated separately from each other, they can also be rinsed separately. A gateway enables the 2K COMFORT to be integrated into a field bus system in order to transmit information to a higher-level control, for example. A new version of the 2K Comfort with two fluid circuits – which are operated in parallel using just one control – is now available. This means that just one single mixing and dosing system is required to equip two painting booths. When processing the workpieces with just one system, two different materials – which are physically separated from each other – can thus be applied at the same time. This is particularly important for highly reactive materials, such as when coating agricultural machinery with two-component epoxy primer and two-component PU topcoat. It is also possible to use two different application methods, such as high and low pressure, for example. The advantage of this system is demonstrated by a workpiece processing time that is reduced by up to 50 % compared to the earlier FlexControl Plus model, and a cost advantage of up to 15 % compared to application using two single circuit systems. With the enhanced version of the 2K Comfort mixing and dosing system, Wagner is offering an intelligent and unique solution within the competitive environment with which the user benefits from significant savings in time and investment costs. For the perfect positioning of the two fluid circuits and the control cabinet, the fluid cabinets can be arranged both on top of as well as adjacent to each other. To prevent errors during operation, the twin circuit version of the 2K Comfort is equipped with separate operating controls for each fluid circuit – start, stop, rinse, and recipe change. Costs of system downtime in the event of operating errors are thus prevented. The different colored background of the display also indicates which fluid circuit is having its parameters set at the present time. Just as is possible on the basic model of the 2K Comfort, the parameters and recipes on the twin circuit version can also be set both via the touch display and a mobile terminal, such as a tablet PC. The process data is evaluated by PC-based software.
