HORN, North America’s premier distributor of specialty chemicals and raw materials, has announced the addition of Rachel Capsavage as account manager for the HORN Coatings and Building Materials business unit. A technical sales professional and an experienced chemist, Capsavage will provide added support for the company’s coatings customers in Southern California. “Our sales team is comprised of some of the coatings industry’s most technically-shrewd chemists and skilled salespeople,” said Vince Anderson, vice president, HORN Coatings and Building Materials. “Rachel’s technical knowledge, sales tenacity and established relationships with existing customers are invaluable qualities we sought in a new account manager. We continue to build on HORN’s reputation for excellence by welcoming Rachel to the team.” Prior to joining HORN, Capsavage was the western regional sales representative at Cristal USA. In that role, she established and managed internal and external relationships with all levels and functions of the company’s titanium dioxide (TiO2) customers. She also served as the region’s leading authority in contract negotiations and is credited with growing the overall sales by a remarkable 177 percent. Her technical background also includes scientific cGMP lab experience such as analytical experimentation and chromatography for global companies. “It’s truly an honor to join HORN given its reputation industrywide,” said Capsavage. “The longevity of employee stockholders dedicated to HORN’s success and its culture of cultivating meaningful relationships among its employees and partners were also significant draws. This is a pivotal time in my career and I am eager to contribute to HORN’s continued achievements and progression.” Capsavage is an alumna of California State University, San Bernardino and has been an active member of the industry through organizations such as Los Angeles Society for Coatings Technology.
