Jowat has introduced a powerful all-round adhesive for all laminating processes of vehicle interiors. The new Jowatherm-Reaktant 642.00 adhesive is characterised by several improved properties: a faster build-up of cohesion, very good initial strength, short holding times and processing cycles even at high ambient temperatures, and very low VOC values. Jowatherm-Reaktant is the first PUR hot melt with such a wide range of features for laminating applications in the automotive industry. The all-round new PUR hot melt is suitable for all 3D laminating applications in the automotive industry and provides superior quality, which previously required several different adhesive products. The key focus during the development of Jowatherm-Reaktant 642.00 was to deliver outstanding performance and, therefore, the adhesive is characterised by significantly optimised product and processing properties. The hot melt adhesive provides a considerably faster build-up of cohesion and an improved creep resistance, which reduces the risk of adhesive failures under tension and heat, as well as substantially reduced VOC values compared to older product versions. Whether nozzle or roller applicators or by spraying – Jowatherm Reaktant 642.00 can be applied with different systems, with superior results in every case. The new hot melt adhesive is suitable for press lamination as well as for vacuum deep drawing. Long dwell times and the required energy for drying and evaporation – known from classic solvent-based adhesives and dispersions – become obsolete with PUR hot melts. The time needed to cool the adhesive down has been reduced to the level of the pressing and holding times of solvent based adhesives and dispersions, leading to an additional benefit of Jowatherm Reaktant® 642.00: considerably shorter process cycles. The outstanding results with Jowatherm-Reaktant 642.00 have already been confirmed by numerous processors in projects assisted by the Technical Support of Jowat. The adhesive is available in 2 kg aluminium cans and in 20 kg hobbocks.
