BASF donated $5,000 to The Lake House in St. Clair Shores to assist their efforts to provide support and education to cancer patients, their families, friends and caregivers.
“With over 1.5 million people in the U.S. diagnosed with cancer each year, it’s important that we help support those impacted by this terrible disease,” said Grace Showalter, BASF Business Director, Performance Materials. “We see this as a contribution to help mitigate the impact of cancer on our community.”
The Lake House offers free emotional and social support programs for those impacted by cancer. Members can participate in support groups, health and wellness lectures, stress management activities, art classes, and social events at no cost.
“We thank BASF for this generous donation,” said Madeline Bialecki, Executive Director of The Lake House. “This will support people who have been touched by cancer through wellness activities and community support groups. The contribution will make a great impact on our members.”
