Azelis has announced an extended distribution agreement to offer Lonza’s Materials Protection ingredients to industrial market segments such as paints, coatings, inks, emulsion polymerisation, adhesives and sealants, marine paints, building products, construction auxiliaries and mineral slurries. The agreement covers Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Benelux, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Ukraine. Azelis has already been serving Lonza in France and Italy for more than ten years and Turkey since 2015. Effective January 1, the new mandate will strengthen Azelis’ position in offering a broad portfolio of industrial biocides with a best in class regulatory expertise and technical support to clients in these markets. Per Westin, Head of Global Sales, Coatings & Composites SBU Lonza, comments: ‘We chose Azelis because of their ability to offer customer service and satisfaction through experience, knowledge of the products and applications and their approach to product stewardship and regulatory compliance. We are looking forward to working with Azelis in this expanded partnership.’ To support the development of its biocide business, Azelis has employed Gilles Pradier as Business Development Manager for this segment. Pradier is a biocide specialist with over 20 years’ experience in marketing and sales of industrial biocides, with previous roles including a global specialty chemicals company. Based in the Azelis Paris office, Pradier will support the regional teams commercially and technically, as well as design and implement specific regional strategies for each target market. Thomas Schlenstedt, Azelis Group Principal Manager for Lonza, adds: ‘Lonza is one of the global leaders in the field of industrial preservation with over 20 active substances supported in Europe. With its broad range of formulated biocides such as Proxel® in-can preservatives and Zinc Omadine® dry film preservatives, we are well equipped to offer the most appropriate solution for our customers. By providing innovative solutions based on synergistic combination of substances with low skin sensitising and environmentally friendly profiles, we can help customers avoid negative labelling impact for their products.’ Lonza biocides will complement the Azelis portfolio of additives and resins in water borne formulations, giving customers an extended choice of products. Lonza is also a strategic supplier for Azelis Americas, who has an agreement covering all of the USA.
