AGC Chemicals Americas Inc. is excited to announce its sponsorship of the 13th Annual Plastics Chemistry Fair, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on January 29 at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pa. AGCCA product & development engineers Katie Sprick and Mike Scesa will volunteer their plastics chemistry expertise at the event, where four eligible participants will be granted a $500 scholarship at the conclusion of the fair.
Guests of the event, which is presented by the Philadelphia Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers, will be able to participate in over 20 experiments in the “Plastics Lab” that showcase how plastics are used in daily life. Activities and presentations include Plastics in the Movies, Medical Plastics, Plastics are in Fashion and a scavenger hunt.
“The Plastics Chemistry Fair is a great opportunity for visitors of all ages to learn about the important role plastics play in our lives,” Sprick said. “Our goal is to create a fun, informative and interactive experience that can get people as excited about plastics as we are.”
