Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Introduces Two New Solvent Cleaners

Sherwin-Williams Aerospace has announced the addition of two new solvent cleaners: Waterborne Surface Cleaner (CM0110146) and Basecoat Surface Cleaner (CM0110158).

These products are fast-evaporating solvents designed to remove light contamination.  Both cleaners can be used with a variety of Sherwin Williams Aerospace coatings, but are particularly beneficial when used with its SKYscapes® Basecoat systems (850 and 855 Series). These two new surface cleaners’ mild formula make them ideal for preparing or cleaning freshly painted basecoat prior to clear coating.

Waterborne Surface Cleaner is a low-odor, fast-evaporating solvent wipe developed to remove light contamination. This mild solvent enhances the paint cycle cleaning process, where significant hand finishing and/or back masking has occurred multiple times. Waterborne Surface Cleaner can be used as packaged – no mixing or dilution required.

Particularly beneficial on primer, solid or effect basecoat systems, the new Waterborne Surface Cleaner is specifically recommended for use with the SKYscapes General Aviation 855 Series Basecoat system.

The new Basecoat Surface Cleaner is also a low odor fast-evaporating solvent wipe developed to remove light contamination. It is particularly beneficial on solid or effect basecoat systems, as its mild formula will not damage the freshly painted surface. It, too, is effective for all Sherwin Williams Aerospace coatings and is particularly recommended when used with either 850 or 855 Series SKYscapes Basecoat systems.
