Michelman said it will be exhibiting Hydrosize Link and leading a technical conference at the SPE/Automotive Composites Conference & Exhibition.
Hydrosize Link, is a polyurethane dispersion designed as fiber sizing for reinforced composites in automotive under-the-hood applications, per Michelman.
The new sizing is available in two grades: Hydrosize Link U470 (for use with chopped strand fiber) and Hydrosize Link U480 (suitable for both chopped strand and continuous fiber), according to Michelman.
The company said Hydrosize Link dispersions are specifically designed to react with PA6 and PA6.6 resin matrices.
Michelman's Group Marketing Manager, Steve Bassetti, is scheduled to lead a presentation entitled “Fiber Sizing Fundamentals and Emerging Technologies." on Sept. 7 from 9-9:30 a.m. in the Emerald/Amethyst Ballroom.
The company said Bassetti will discuss "how sizing technology and development has played an important role in the continuous improvement of composite mechanical properties and how they can be used to improve chemical and hydrolysis resistance."
The conference is scheduled for Sept. 6-8, 2017 at the Diamond Banquet & Conference Center in Novi, MI.
