TOTAL Cray Valley Introduces Renewable Polyfarnesene Diol Technology at U.S., European Conferences

Krasol F 3000 is the latest addition to TCV’s extensive line of Krasol- and Ricon®-brand liquid polybutadiene resins.

Global liquid polybutadiene leader TOTAL Cray Valley (TCV) will be presenting its latest technology breakthrough, polyfarnesene diol Krasol® F 3000, at three conferences across Europe and United States this Fall. TCV has developed a renewable alternative to petroleum-based feedstocks that is based on trans-β-farnesene.

  • FEICA 2017 European Adhesive and Sealant Conference – Olivier Defrain, the adhesives and sealants technical manager for TCV Europe will present, “Synthesis, Characterization and Main Properties of Farnesene-based Polymers” at the Bio-Based Adhesives breakout session on Sept. 15 at 11:30 a.m. The conference takes place in Forte Village, Sardinia, Italy, from Sept. 13-15.
  • Center for the Polyurethanes Industry’s Polyurethane Technical Conference – TCV innovations manager, Dr. Herbert Chao will present “Introducing TOTAL Cray Valley Polyfarnesene ” at the breakout session on Oct. 3 at 3:00 p.m. This conference will be held in New Orleans, Oct. 2-4.
  • UTECH Congress’s Polyurethanes Automotive Conference – Dr. Philippe Lodefier, European R&D manager for TCV resins, will present, “Creating a Commercial, Bio-based Route to the Production of Low Viscosity Diols: Applications to the Automotive Sector” on Oct. 12 at 4:45 p.m. This conference will be held in Amsterdam, Oct. 12-13.
Krasol F 3000 is the latest addition to TCV’s extensive line of Krasol- and Ricon®-brand liquid polybutadiene resins. It can replace polyether and polyester diols while providing improved moisture resistance and much lower viscosity compared to traditional polybutadiene polyols. TCV’s customers will be able to produce specialty adhesives for electronics and automobiles that have excellent moisture resistance and design flexibility.
