PPG said it will showcase industry-leading liquid, powder, electrocoat (e-coat) and pretreatment coatings and present two technical papers during FABTECH 2017, which takes place Nov. 6-9 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
As one of the few companies with products and expertise in multiple coatings technologies, PPG will exhibit an array of solutions that enable global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to use lighter-weight metals, accelerate or simplify production, and achieve environmental compliance without sacrificing corrosion resistance. Proven products include ENVIROCRON powder coatings; POWERCRON and POWERCRON ADVANTEDGETM e- coats; DURABULL, DRAGONHIDE and SPECTRACRON liquid coatings; and VERSABOND and Dragonhide ZRE pretreatment products.
FABTECH’s continuing education program will feature two PPG coatings experts. Gary Orosz, PPG application process manager, electrocoat, will present “Fundamentals of a Successful Electrocoat Operation” on Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m. The session will cover how the e-coat process works, ideal applications, technology options, cost control, efficiency maximization of an e-coat system and basic troubleshooting.
Maria Lamorey, PPG business development manager, electrical transmission and distribution equipment, will present “Corrosion Considerations and Lifecycle Cost for Electrical Components” on Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m. The session will guide attendees through the options they should consider when selecting coatings systems for performance-critical electrical equipment, such as switchgear, enclosures, transformers and lighting fixtures. Lamorey also will discuss how to identify and troubleshoot the causes of corrosion for such equipment.
FABTECH is North America's largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event. The 2017 show is expected to attract 50,000 attendees and 1,700 exhibiting companies.
