Pelseal Technologies, LLC, a manufacturer of more than 800 high-performance liquid fluoroelastomer coatings, adhesives, sealants and caulks, developed 23 new product formulations in 2017 to meet the needs of customers in a variety of industries, including for use as industrial coatings and sealants. Pelseal created the formulations to refine the physical properties of its existing products for better VOC, higher solids content, process viscosity or adhesion properties. Among the new products is Pelseal A1104, an AFLAS fluoroelastomer caulk. Pelseal A1104 is designed to resist alkalis, aminos and other high pH chemicals. It also has excellent oil and fuel resistance and can withstand a broad temperature range beyond 400°F (205 °C). Each Pelseal formulation features the unique properties of a fluoroelastomer: extreme chemical resistance, flexibility, high abrasion resistance and broad temperature range capability. Pelseal products also bond to a broad range of substrates, including most metals, concrete, glass, ceramics, other elastomers and some plastics. In addition to Viton and AFLAS-based fluoroelastomer presentations, Pelseal also offers a number of Dyneon™-based formulations. “Engineers are familiar with Viton fluoroelastomer O-rings and gaskets,” said Bill Ross, president of Pelseal Technologies, LLC. “Our liquid fluoroelastomer presentations are unique and can solve corrosion problems in ways most industrial professionals haven’t even imagined. Pelseal coatings, adhesives, sealants and caulks remain flexible in service and resist a broad range of chemistry. Common uses include concrete crack repair, expansion joint sealant, coating metal housings, sealant for tank lids and improving existing gasket seals.”
