IVM Group, a wood coatings manufacturer, through the MILESI brand, has supplied the coatings for the first phase of restoration of the wooden shutters of the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées & Spa in Stresa, Italy, a 5-star luxury facility at the top of the international rankings. Wood coatings by MILESI are the protagonists of the project completed in March 2018, calling for implementation of the first part of the restoration of the historic wooden shutters. Programmed to take place before the end of 2018, the second phase of the restoration involves about 100 more frames, completing their renovation in the entire building. “It has been an honor to contribute to the restoration of shutters of a historic institution like the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées & Spa. The initiative offers further proof of the high quality of our products and the ability of IVM to respond to aesthetic and functional needs in any type of project,” says Federica Teso, CEO of IVM Group. The complete renovation of 35 wooden double-leaf shutters has been implemented by a specialized team of four experts from 2 Effe Legno, the Brianza-based company specializing in the production of wooden shutters founded in 1986, which has always been a client of MILESI. This project has involved the use of coating solutions from the Hydrocrom range of outdoor products by MILESI. In technical terms, three coats have been applied in the workshop: the undercoating of fungicidal protective primer, followed by two base coats and one for the color – RAL 7042 light gray – the original hue of the casements that have always been a characteristic feature of the impressive Des Iles facade.
