Superior Materials Inc. (Garden City, N.Y.) has expanded into the Southeast United States. The company will now be covering the entire eastern half of the U.S. east of the Mississippi River.
Superior Materials was founded in 1946 and is a privately held, fourth generation specialty chemical distributor.The company services a wide range of industries including building and construction, CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers), food, household, industrial, institutional, plastics and rubber, personal care, and printing ink.
Laura Sampieri Copeland will be the Southeast regional account manager. She started her career as an application chemist for Degussa Corporation (now Evonik). Copeland has also held positions at Efka Additives, Huber, and Delta Colours.
In addition to her extensive background, she also served as Education Chairperson for the Cleveland division of the FSCT, authored many articles and internal technical data sheets, has set up laboratories, and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.
Copeland will be primarily responsible for sales in the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama.
