To help improve global access to safe drinking water and toilets, organizers of UTECH North America and its parent company, Crain Communications, have launched a fund-raising partnership with Water.org. Show exhibitors, attendees, partners and delegates who make a donation will be recognized for their generosity and support during UTECH North America, which takes place Sept. 11-13 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC.
The UTECH North America team has kick-started the campaign with a $1,000 donation. Every $60 donated will provide one family in need with life-changing access to safe water or sanitation.
“UTECH organizes trade shows for the polyurethane industry around the world, uniting the best and brightest minds in the industry,” said Debbie Hershfield, trade show director at Crain Communications. “Our mission goes beyond business and profits, and so we are encouraging our community of business professionals and companies to join us in supporting Water.org to provide the basic human right of access to water.”
About 844 million people, or around 1 in 9 of the world’s population, lack access to safe water; 2.3 billion, or about one in three, lack access to a toilet. UTECH community donations will be used to empower families around the world with access to small, affordable loans to make household water and sanitation solutions a reality.
