Sumter Coatings’ Austin Floyd Retiring

After more than five decades in the paint and coatings industry, Austin E. Floyd will retire effective Aug. 2, 2019.
 
His career in the paint industry began in 1965 as a chemist at Southern Coatings & Chemical Company. Floyd held various managerial positions with Southern Coatings including president and CEO.
 
After the sale of Southern Coatings/Pratt & Lambert in 1995, Floyd, along with several other investors, formed Sumter Coatings, Inc. 
 
In 2002 he became national accounts/custom accounts rep and led the company in significant growth in sales dollars over the next 17 years.
 
Floyd will continue to serve as an active member on the Board of Directors of Sumter Coatings, Inc.
