HMG Paints’ range of decorative coatings were utilized by Howard Town Brewery, which is based in Glossop.
Having occupied a modest 1,500-square-foot unit at absolute capacity for over a decade, Howard Town embarked on a renovation of a 6,000-square-foot warehouse next door, putting in a state-of-the-art, Simatec brewhouse.
As part of the renovation, Howard Town Brewery worked closely with HMG Paints to specify the correct coatings.
Due to the environment, a unique coating was developed by the Manchester-based company dubbed “Brewery Paint."
The high gloss anti-microbial acrylic coating was utilized on the walls and ceiling of the refurbished brewery.

The coating utilizes a silver ion additive which provides lasting and effective protection against harmful bacteria, mold, fungi and viruses by up to 99.99%.
Howard Town is best known for being a traditional cask brewery.
As part of the refurbishment, HMG’s standard range of decorative products was also used in the new taproom where customers can sample the beers on site.
For the taproom, the company used HMG’s Vinyl Matt Emulsion and Trim Paints which were color-matched to the Howard Town brand colors.
“This project highlights what HMG does best, in working with Howard Town we found a bespoke solution for its needs,” said Paddy Dyson, marketing manager, HMG Paints. “Being a local manufacturer was also key as we could manufacture and deliver the paint directly to Howard Town as it was needed.”
