The Powder Coating Institute (PCI) recently awarded its 2021 scholarships to deserving students who are studying subjects that can lead to a career in powder coating. “PCI and our corporate sponsors are excited to present scholarships to ten qualifying candidates with the hope of joining our industry. Finding new talent is one of the challenges our member companies are facing. The PCI scholarship program is the industry’s investment in fulfilling this need,” states Kevin Coursin, PCI executive director.

PCI administers the scholarship program, which solicits applications from students from educational institutions throughout the country. PCI member companies also provide support to the scholarship program through corporate sponsorships. The corporate sponsors benefit by being involved in the selection process and investing in potential personnel from the pool of candidates. With continued support from corporate donors, the scholarship program is able to reach students throughout the country and steer them into careers in the powder coating industry.

The scholarship program continues to grow and attract bright new talent to the powder coating industry, which includes students pursuing degrees in polymer science, manufacturing, engineering, business management, and marketing. The growth of the scholarship program enhances the potential young scholars in the industry and PCI is proud to be a part of it. PCI received a record number of qualified applicants this year and is excited to watch the career paths of these exceptional students.

The 2021 PCI Scholarship Program awarded $35,000 in total, which includes donations of $5,000 from each of our corporate donors: Axalta Coating Systems, Gema USA Inc., IFS Coatings, Nordson Corporation and PPG.
