The Chemical Coaters Association International offers a variety of training classes for the industrial finishing industry. This year the association adds valuable content to the calendar with its Industrial Finishing Safety Seminar. This one-and-a-half-day seminar was developed by industry experts well-versed in safety for finishing operations. To be held April 5 & 6, 2022 in Elgin, IL, the seminar will focus on NFPA 33, the Standard for Spray Application Using Flammable or Combustible Materials. Attendees will learn critical information on how to safely operate an industrial finishing line. Seminar presenter and finishing consultant Rich Saddler remarks, “NFPA 33 provides the foundation for designing, building, and operating a finishing system which is safe and effective. This class will cover the entire standard and allow participants to understand the details and ask questions.” Topics covered in this workshop include general safety requirements & construction/design, electrical and electrostatic spray equipment, ventilation, storage handling and distribution, fire protection, operations, maintenance and training, drying and curing, powder coating and an Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) panel. Attendees will also benefit from the opportunity to connect with professionals in industrial finishing safety. This workshop is ideal for paint manufacturing engineers, lead painters, paint maintenance leads, maintenance engineers, maintenance personnel, staff engineers, environmental engineers (industrial health & safety), finishing equipment designers, system engineers, controls engineers, project engineers, and facility managers.
