The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) announced that Chris Jahn, President and CEO of American Chemistry Council (ACC), will deliver the keynote at the 64th Polyurethanes Technical Conference on Oct. 3, 2022. The conference will take place Oct. 3-5, 2022, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md.
“Chris is a leader in the chemical industry, and we are thrilled to have him deliver keynote remarks at our 2022 Polyurethanes Technical Conference,” said Lee Salamone, senior director, CPI. “The chemical industry is working to enhance our reputation by demonstrating the many meaningful actions we are taking to tackle some of the world’s pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges. CPI’s role in this effort is vital and I look forward to Chris’ insights into how we can build on these industry efforts.”
Jahn became President and CEO of ACC in 2019 after serving six years as President and CEO of The Fertilizer Institute (TFI), where he advocated for policies and regulations focused on enhancing security, free trade, environmental protection, worker health and safety, and farm bill and conservation programs to promote the use of fertilizer. Prior to joining TFI in 2013, Chris served as president of the National Association of Chemical Distributors for seven years.
“ACC members are making meaningful progress toward creating a cleaner, safer and more sustainable future – and polyurethanes are very much at the heart of that progress,” said Jahn. “I’m looking forward to working with members at the conference on how they can further contribute to industry’s sustainability story and showcase the role of chemistry in helping to solve some of the world’s most serious challenges.”
