BASF’s site in Huntsville, Alabama, recently donated $20,000 to the United Way of Madison County to support programs that assist with improving the quality of life in the surrounding communities. United Way encourages communities to build bridges toward financial stability, speak up about needs of neighbors and be helping hands to improve the lives of those in the area. With BASF’s contribution, more than 25 partner organizations will benefit from the funds. “This partnership with United Way provides an opportunity for BASF employees to help strengthen its community,” said Ray Weed, Site Director of BASF’s Huntsville facility. “Our contribution represents a commitment to invest in the critical needs of our neighboring counties.” United Way’s mission is to stand united against the community’s most daunting social crises. The organization fights for health, education, financial stability, and access to life’s essential needs for every person in every community it serves. “Thanks to BASF’s $20,000 investment in our United Way of Madison County we can activate and empower a proven model of collaboration at a crucial time. These funds will support programming to ensure success of our children in school, obtain affordable housing for our most fragile populations, and increase in mental health services for those in crisis,” said Daniel Kasambira, President and CEO of United Way of Madison County. “In addition, we are also dedicated to lowering barriers that prevent consistent, and reliable transportation. BASF’s investment in Ride United will provide between 300-400 rides for BASF team members so they can concentrate on their successful career journey. Together we can do more.”
