Bitec Inc., manufacturer of bitumen roofing and waterproofing membranes has merged with Viking Products Group, formerly Northeast Ohio. This partnership expects to expand Bitec’s reach throughout the United States and Canada.
In 2018 Commercial Innovations Inc rebranded under the Viking Products Group creating customer-responsive product and service offerings to contractors and distributors.
Viking will reorganize and consolidate its warehouse, service, and support operations to Arkansas under Bitec’s leadership team, allowing both companies to more efficiently and effectively serve their customers.
“The whole will be even stronger than the sum of its parts,” said Bitec VP Joel Shealey. “We are two sales organizations serving the same markets. Aside from the obvious advantage of becoming more efficient at serving our customers, this merger will expand Bitec’s sales reach and give our customers access to some leading-edge products.”
According to Bitec, with this merger more customers will have greater access to GreenSlope singe-component polyurethane primer/adhesive, Leadax Armored Flashing and Stronghold single-ply membranes that are available in both KEE and PVC formulations.
According to Viking, Bitec will retain the Viking brand and will acquire all Viking products and intellectual property.
Viking President Brett Wygal said, “we’ve been taking to our sales reps and they are really excited about this next step in growth. Our customers will benefit from a deeper offering of modified bitumen options and the great support a more mature organization can provide.”
