WEG was one of the winners of the “Valor Inovação Brasil” 2024 Award, granted by Valor Econômico and Strategy& – PwC’s strategic consultancy – to the most innovative companies in Brazil. For the tenth consecutive time, the company ranked among the top 10, placing eighth overall and achieving first place in the electro-electronics sector. Conducted with the support of the National Association of Research and Development of Innovative Companies (Anpei), the research evaluates competencies such as creativity, the ability to generate knowledge, and the strategic application of new technologies. This year, the Strategy & Analysis team evaluated companies from all over Brazil, from which a select group of 150 were classified as the most innovative, and the leaders in innovation in 25 economic activity sectors and the top 10 most innovative in the overall ranking. WEG has consistently invested in Research, Development, and Innovation (RD&I). In 2023, investment in RD&I was 2.6% of its net operating revenue. Currently, it has 122 research and development laboratories worldwide. Celebrating 10 years, the Valor Inovação Brasil Award was marked by an in-person event on Aug. 5th. Rodrigo Fumo Fernandes, the managing director of WEG Industrial Motors, attended the event and dedicated the recognition to WEG’s more than 45,000 employees who drive the company towards an increasingly efficient and sustainable future. Also present representing the company in Innovation were Carlos Ogawa, Cassiano Cezario, Pedro Havranek, and Sebastião Lauro Nau.
