Hempel has been awarded a bronze medal in its 2025 EcoVadis assessment - achieving its highest rating to date and ranking among the top 35% of all companies rated by EcoVadis. This marks a 10-point improvement since 2024 (2025: 63 points) and reflects Hempel’s growing commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices.
The EcoVadis rating, one of the world’s most respected independent sustainability assessments, recognises best-practices across environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The rating provides validation of Hempel's commitment to sustainability and results from the efforts embedded through its sustainability framework, Futureproof.
“This is a fantastic recognition of how we are embedding ESG across every part of our business,” says Sofia Mavropoulou, VP and head of sustainability at Hempel A/S. “Our customers rely on us to be a credible partner on their ESG journeys - and results like these prove that we are delivering on that trust.”
Several new initiatives helped drive the strong 2025 result. Hempel launched a global parental leave policy as well as a flexible work policy in 2024, underlining its focus on social responsibility. It also expanded ESG reporting across key areas like waste, water and energy - demonstrating a commitment to transparency and continuous improvement.
“This year’s results show that sustainability at Hempel is not just about ambition - it’s about real, measurable outcomes,” adds Mavropoulou. “At the same time, they inspire us to push further. We remain committed to setting even higher benchmarks for responsible business and sustainable manufacturing.”
