Evonik’s biosurfactant TEGO Wet 580 Terra has received the Ringier Technology Innovation Award in the coatings industry, recognizing its exceptional performance and sustainability benefits.

This award highlights Evonik’s leadership in developing high-performing, environmentally friendly solutions that meet the increasing demand for sustainable coatings and inks. 

The development of bio-based products has become a significant trend in the coatings and inks industry. Evonik’s biosurfactants are produced by microorganisms through a unique fermentation process. Unlike fossil-based surfactants, TEGO Wet 580 Terra is 100% derived from natural resources. Besides having very low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), their natural origin makes them readily biodegradable and well tolerated by aquatic organisms.
