HORN, a North American distributor of specialty ingredients, chemicals and raw materials, has announced the promotion of Eva O’Keefe to vice president of strategic accounts and Jay Umphrey to vice president of key accounts. O’Keefe and Umphrey joined the HORN Coatings and Building Materials team in 2010 and have since become top producers for the company’s largest business unit. “Over the years, HORN has built a stellar team of account managers who have put us on the map and continue to build opportunities to help us make an impact on our respective industries,” said Vince Anderson, vice president, HORN Coatings and Building Materials. “Jay and Eva are prime examples of the character, tenacity, commitment and intelligence our partners have come to expect from our account managers. In addition to these traits, Jay and Eva are masters at developing long-term relationships and in recent years, both have played a key role in securing HORN’s leadership in their respective trades.” O’Keefe and Umphrey have earned honors that have gone down in HORN’s sales history. O’Keefe’s 2013 record-breaking sales achievement award continues to hold steady while Umphrey repeatedly earns elite sales achievement awards year after year. As vice president of strategic accounts, O’Keefe’s role as biocide product manager will expand to now include the management of principal suppliers Troy Chemicals, Imerys Talc and NYCO Imerys for HORN’s coatings business. Umphrey will continue to manage and strengthen the presence of Ashland Construction and H.B. Fuller in the niche construction and architectural segments. “We are proud of Jay and Eva’s well-earned promotions and we are confident that the expanded responsibilities that come with their promotions will prosper under their care,” said Anderson.
