Sherwin-Williams Introduces KEM NISO 8510

Sherwin-Williams, through its Product Finishes Division, introduces KEM NISO 8510, an isocyanate-free topcoat system that can be color matched in any package size to a wide range of colors and quickly blended at Sherwin-Williams facilities across North America.

The system dries hard in 24 hours, may be ambient or force cured to adapt to almost any customer line, has superior flow, leveling and sharp edge sag resistance, and can be applied wet on wet with common-catalyst KEM NISO primers for improved corrosion resistance in exposed applications.

“From application and drying, to physical properties and finished appearance, this product will be well suited to customers who do not or cannot use isocyanates in their process,” said David Calabra, Global Product Director, Sherwin-Williams Product Finishes. He said KEM NISO 8510 offers superior Distinctness of Image (DOI) properties, producing great finish clarity.

The two-component product has similar appearance and gloss properties as conventional high solids urethanes used for metal and general industrial applications in a broad range of industry segments including trailers, heavy machinery, cranes and mining equipment.
