Rodney Taylor, Ph.D., has been named Vice President, Innovation, Americas Region at Orion Engineered Carbons. Dr. Taylor is responsible for leading the development of Carbon Black products and production processes in the Americas.
Prior to joining Orion in the U.S., Dr. Taylor served as Vice President, Global Process Development at the company’s Cologne, Germany technical center. Dr. Taylor is a 35-year veteran of Carbon Black research and development and is Chairman of the American Carbon Society.
He previously led Columbian Chemical Company’s Carbon Black research and development function.
Dr. Taylor earned a B.S. in Chemistry/Geology from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, and his Ph.D. in Material Science studying carbon materials under Dr. P. L. Walker at The Pennsylvania State University.
