Specialty Polymers, Inc. has hired Steve Dobson as the company’s new Regional Sales Manager. Steve has been with SPI for more than 10 years as Production Manager for the East Coast plant. His territory includes the Northeast U.S. & eastern Canada. In his role as Regional Sales Manager Steve will be focused on supporting customers in a variety of markets, including architectural & industrial coatings, building & construction, craft/hobby, and printing inks. He will be calling on existing accounts as well as developing new business partnerships with the support of SPI’s technical team. With nearly 30 years of experience in resin chemistry and a high level of technical, manufacturing, and sales knowledge Steve is well-suited for the job. “With Steve’s high level of technical experience and customer-focused approach, he is an ideal fit for the new role at Specialty Polymers. He has been with SPI for more than 10 years, he knows the product line, and he is firmly committed to supporting the customer. We are excited to have Steve join our Sales Team.” Sheryl Southwell, Specialty’s President says. Steve Dobson has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and he worked for Ashland as an engineer and plant manager for multiple manufacturing facilities. While at Ashland he took on a sales role, supplying acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives and also coordinating the acquisition of a competitor in 1999. Steve came to SPI in 2004 as the Production Manager in Chester, SC, and his manufacturing expertise will be valuable in supporting customers of all sizes. He is excited to now be representing Specialty Polymers in the new role of Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast U.S. & eastern Canada.
