In Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa a group of more than 60 PPG volunteers came together to revitalize the Kungwini Children’s Home, owned by the Kungwini Welfare Organisation.
Over four days, volunteers refreshed the interiors and exterior of the children’s home using over 2,000 liters of paint. The paint range used included Evolve, Prominent Paints Premium range and Prominent Paints Select range. New bed linens, curtains, outdoor furniture and gym equipment were also donated by PPG.
Volunteers focused on redecorating communal areas, transforming them into warm and inviting spaces, using neutral colors to create calming retreats for the home’s tenants. The children who stay at the home were also given the special responsibility of selecting their favorite paint colors for their own bedrooms.
The volunteers revamped and restored the ins and outs of the facility.
"As corporate citizens we can become agents of change, but for meaningful change to occur, collaboration and engagement is required for optimal impact," said Paul-Alban Riché, Managing Director, Prominent Paints and PPG Regional Business Director, Southern and Eastern Africa. "This is exactly what’s transpired with this project. By working together with multiple partners our impact has been magnified and for us that’s a great result.”
