PPG Offers Aerospace Coatings Customers More Training Programs

PPG said it will offer its popular aerospace coatings training to more customers by increasing the number of programs to meet growing global demand.
 
Nine sessions of PPG’s Aerospace Coatings Academy are already planned in 2019 – four in the U.S. for North American customers; four in Europe for customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA); and one in Asia for participants from China, Japan and nearby countries.
 
PPG may hold additional training programs to accommodate customer requests.
 
More than 200 painters, engineers and buyers representing around 50 airlines, aircraft manufacturers and maintenance operations have attended 14 sessions held since the academy launched in 2015. There is no charge to attend an academy session, which offers hands-on learning opportunities as well as classroom sessions on the latest aerospace coatings technologies.
 
PPG continues to update the program content as new technology develops and to address customer requests.
 
“By holding the training at PPG facilities, we also afford attendees the opportunity to see PPG coatings operations,” said Daniel Bencun, PPG global director, aerospace coatings. “Customers have told us they find value in both the classroom segments that provide technology overviews and the practical sessions, where they participate in such activities as applying paint onto panels in a spray booth.”
 
PPG will hold its next Aerospace Coatings Academy in December 2018 at its Barcelona, Spain, automotive refinish coatings manufacturing facility.
